Gemologist's Comments on Color: The color of this blue sapphire is an attractive and highly desirable shade of "royal blue", without being overly dark in appearance. Clarity description: The stone is completely free from eye-visible inclusions, and no inclusions are seen under 10x magnification. Gemologist's Comments on Clarity: Such a high level of transparency and exceptional clarity (loupe-clean) is rarely seen in natural & unheated/untreated blue sapphires, particularly in stones over 5 carats in weight.

The features seen in the stone's pavilion are naturally occurring rough, unpolished surface areas. When cutting & polishing blue sapphires, it's a common practice to intentionally keep certain portions of the stone in the natural, rough, unpolished form, particularly in the pavilion/bottom of the stone. This is done to preserve the carat weight and maintain the stone's overall shape/symmetry. Such minor external features are commonly seen in most natural & unheated/untreated blue sapphires. Since they are located in the pavilion, they don't affect the stone's clarity, face-up appearance, or luster.

Fluorescence is the visible light some gemstones emit when exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays.
